Croatian Higher Education at the Heart of the International Academic Community at EAIE
From 8 to 11 September 2026, Glasgow brought together more than 7,300 higher education professionals from over 100 countries at this year’s EAIE Conference and Exhibition, the largest and most prestigious European event dedicated to higher education.
Croatia’s Largest Pavilion to Date
Croatia was represented at EAIE by its largest Study in Croatia pavilion to date, which brought together as many as 19 higher education institutions from across the country. This was the largest Croatian delegation ever to participate in the event, presenting international partners with the diversity of Croatia’s higher education system, English-taught study programmes, areas of expertise, and opportunities for international cooperation.

Days Filled with Meetings, Ideas and New Opportunities
From the opening of the pavilion to the final meeting, the Study in Croatia pavilion served as a vibrant meeting point for networking, exchange of ideas and the development of new contacts. Representatives of Croatian higher education institutions had the opportunity to connect with institutions from around the world, present their programmes and expertise, and discuss new opportunities for cooperation.
The strong turnout and numerous discussions at the Croatian pavilion once again demonstrated the importance of international cooperation for the development of higher education, as well as the knowledge, programmes and expertise that Croatian institutions can offer to the international academic community.
International Promotion of Croatian Higher Education through the Study in Croatia Initiative
As part of the Study in Croatia initiative, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth and the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes are focusing their activities on strengthening the international visibility of Croatian higher education and attracting international students and partners.
Through the initiative, Croatia’s study opportunities and potential for international cooperation were presented in Glasgow, further opening Croatian higher education institutions to international students, partners and the wider academic community.
The activities of the Study in Croatia initiative will continue at the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year with participation in the Study in Europe Education Fair in Baku, organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan. At the fair, aimed at high school and university students considering opportunities to study outside Azerbaijan, the Study in Croatia initiative will be presented together with several Croatian higher education institutions, bringing opportunities for studying in Croatia closer to this dynamic and interesting market.
